Telos Mini Quantum Resonator (MQR) & Puron Filter together

So, I have been a big proponent of the Puron Filters, they have been an awesome addition to my system. I now have a total of 10 of them plugged into my 3 different dedicated lines. Highly recommended!

Recently, I have tried the new Telos Mini Quantum Resonator (MQR). It is close to the physical size of the Puron Filter and also just plugs into the wall, but it has a different look. Kinda nice looking unit. I now have purchased 2 of them.

I’ll cut to the sound quality comparison. While the Puron expands the soundstage the Telos MQR deepens the image. It adds a heft to the music. More meat on the bones as they say. But too many Telos’s (MQR) though and the soundstage gets hardened. Whereas additional Puron’s is a good thing.

Plugging the Telos (MQR as the Puron) into my Niagara power conditioners is still not a good thing. They benefit the most being plugged into the wall outlet that the conditioners are plugged into.

Now a surprising location for the Telos (MQR) was into the power strip in another room that powers my computer equipment. i.e., Modem, EtherRegen, After Dark Clock and power supply.  At this location, my streaming from Qobuz improved in overall sound quality. I’m thinking because in this power strip there are more digital nasties that this device goes after.

So, both units together do provide an added synergy. It is hard to use one without the other. I now have one Telos (MQR) in my main system dedicated circuit and another with my computer equipment.

I had the Qv2 (now sold) and found it definitely did something but did not prefer it in the system. A sideways steps if you will. I also hear this with the Add-Powr EU4. At first I liked it, but upon removal things free up and everything sounds more natural.

Both the Qv2 and EU2/4 are the same tech (by the same guy) - injecting a 50/60hz signal into the waveform. Maybe I just dont like what this does and it makes me wary of trying the new QWave as its the same thing just a newer version of the Qv2.

I do not think the Telos tech has anything to do with this, they are doing something different.

Well, I have done a 180. I no longer have the Telos in my audio system with the Purons. I think with my Add Power Sorcer x4, the Puron’s and the Telos it was just too much. Once I removed the Telos the soundstage really widened. I was surprised of what I had been missing.

I moved the Telos to my Video dedicated circuit and it really improved the picture. Nothing negative about any of these products, it just can be too much all together,

@agisthos

sorry for (very) late reply.

In my findings I find it best to combine QWave and QSine, both for audio and video. They compliment each other well.

Thanks for that post.

I actually have done a big change and have sold most of my Purons and the Sorcer.

As my system components have improved, and the system is really dialed in, I have found that too many of these doo-dads (though initially helped), are mostly band-aids. Once removed the sound is actually purer.

However, I still do have one Puron on each dedicated line. The Telos unit (discontinued) is on my video system.

@ozzy from what I can tell the Telos Mini Q has not been discontinued.

I still use them and would not take them out.
