If your room has issues and the DSP software is good on the unit then you should hear an improvement.
If you use ROON these guys will do a better job (remotely) than the T+A hardware based DSP.
T+A HVEQ room correction software
I have a T+A PA 3100 HV with the APM board and I have gone through the manual room correction but would like to use the T+A HVEQ software using a measurement mic. I've downloaded the software on to a windows 11 laptop. The HVEQ instructions say to connect the PA 3100 directly to the PC using an ethernet cable. I have done that and the network lights indicate activity, but the software will not connect to the 3100. When I ping the 3100 IP address from the PC it does not find it. I can't seem to find anyone that has experience with the HVEQ software. T+A USA support is hooking me up to a call from Germany at some point, but I was wondering if anyone here has any suggestions?
I know next to nothing about DSP, but the APM board on the T+A could be analog, at least the acronym stands for Analog signal Processing Module. I have no idea how this might, or might not differ from DSP. I do occasionally use Roon, but it's not my main server. That accurate sound functionality does look interesting. I didn't realize how problematic my room was until I went through the manual version of the T+A room correction. In the end the T+A room correction involves adjusting three parametric bands between 25 and 200 Hz, so not that much control. |
Thanks @rhtowson. Of course! I forgot all about cross over cables, it's been a very long time since I've had to use one. Anyways I was able to run the software using the switch and I dont think the measurements suffered form it. |
