SYNERGESTIC RESEARCH - GALILEO SX INTERCONNECT- XLR
hello,
Does someone has an experience with SYNERGiSTIC RESEARCH GALILEO SX INTERCONNECT ?
the price new is around 9500 $.
what would be its "weaknesses"? What do you think about the bullets (gold and silver)?
is the sound natural/neutral?
is it better than stealth indra V10? nordorst valhalla 2 which are less expensive?
an alternative to stealth sakra V12/V16?
I Read some good reviews , but its difficult to find what real people think about it.
Thank you
philippe

Thanks moneone. however , i never buy "new" because it's too expensive.... so i will not ask a dealer to make a test. today i have a stealth indra V10 and a nordorst valhalla 2, and i could have an opportunity on a galileo SX. I tried to find a sakra xlr but it's impossible.. That's the reason why i try to have some informations from users... |
hello I’m located in france so i can’t use The Cable Co. i have: luxman CD08u stealh indra V10 xlr luxman preamp C900u luxman nordost valhalla 2 xlr luxman amp M900u (class A) i like the overall sound, but i would like to have a little bit more body and energy (and possibly more details and openess). Luxman electronics are maybe a little bit soft. stealth sakra would probaby be a good choice (more body than indra with the same philosophy ), but i don’t find it on the second hand market. galileo SX could be alternative. Reviews are very good but i don’t know what to think about the silver and gold bullets. is the sound neutral/natural? can it be compared to stealth sakra? |
@ facten Thank you, i m going to look at WhatsBestForum.com
Concerning the power supply I have a power conditionner GIGAWATT PC-4 EVO + 1 power cord LS-2 (between the PC and the wall socket), and 3 LS-1 for the electronics. Gigawatt is a Polish manufacturer, maybe not very known in the USA. maybe i will replace LS-1 by LS-2 but they are also expensive... |
Yes. Check the other forum as well. In my opinion the power cables have more impact on sound than interconnects. Gigawatt is not known in the US but their conditioner seems very good. I bet that cables like Shunyata Omega or Synergistic Research SRX or Nordost Odin 2 or the expensive offering from Ansuz or my moneoone Supernova will be much better than LS-2 from wall to your conditioner. It will likely be a cheaper upgrade with more impact than the IC. |
thank you! i've never paid 10000 euros for a cable, and i will never. i bought my cables around 3000 euros which is already a lot of money for a cable and probably too much money... but they bring something that cheaper cables don't. you can find some real people giving their opinion concerning other very expensive cables (sakra at 16000 euros...etc) , until now i've not found a forumer giving its opinion on galileo SRX xlr .. i may have an opportunity on a second hand galileo srx XLR, and i hesitate
LS-2 is good I think, but i will explore other possibilities of power cord.

Plus 1 @larry5729 call Jason at the Cable Company. |
Galileo LE is pretty old technology (for SR at least): uses the old MPC-based active shielding, no graphene, etc. Galileo SX has many advancements and sounds like it. If you do decide to try the LE, price needs to be very low as resale is very difficult. SR’s power cords and power conditioners are where they really shine. I agree with several others here that power cords make the most improvement in sound so if you don’t already have excellent PCs, I recommend you start there to make a substantial improvement in your system’s sound. If you have decided that you really need another pair of world-class ICs, consider Stage III Concepts. |
@zorba2 I have the Magnus Prime (predecessor to the Typhon). |
I own the Gorgon and love it! I will say, when it arrive I was not happy! I had removed a Purist 25th Anni XLR and inserted the Gorgon, which at the time felt like a step backwards. Not now though! The Gorgon took a long time to break-in. You don’t see them on the used market so if you end up with a new one be patient, the rewards are there in time! |
