I occasionally swap something into my system, but the Maggies always return. As they say, once you go flat...

I swap on occasion but have 9 different speakers in various rooms. I had  in -wall speaker wiring running to 6 different rooms included when house was built.

@boomerbillone I have the LRS+ and was looking at the GRS crossover upgrade.  Is it a big, noticeable change or subtle?

Hello All!  Tubeguy76 wondered if the GRS crossover for the LRS+ was  a big change or a subtle one. Definitely not subtle. It's like this: your'e on vaccation and you've been driving for two days and you have half a day to go to your destination. You stop for gas and decice to clean the widshield while your companion shoped for snacks. Yikes! You didn't think it was THAT dirty, but wow, what a difference!  In order to maintain the slim shape, Magnepan uses physically small parts in the crossover, but they degrade the sound. And they use ferrous metal parts. They may be saving $150 per speaker. But the speakers are so good, that they still perrform well enough to satisfy the customers. But wait 'till you hear what they can really do! Trying to unstaple and unwrap the "sock" that covers the speakers is an arduous task. Skip it! Glue (or staple) the fabric to the edges of the hole around the bottom of the rear panel that holds the crossover parts. Cut the fabric along the edge of the opening. Now you have a clear space to work in. The big inductor won't fit in the opening anyway, so I mounted the parts on a perf board and screwed it over the opening. I didn't use the "tube connectors" (but I'm sure they work well) to maintain compatibility witn my other speakers. I used gold plated brass terminal posts that will take just about any kind of speaker wire fittings. I don't care how it looks, I only care how it sounds. If your partner can see the rear of the speakers, you may have to wrestle with sock and some bulges. Now you will be able to hear differences in cables, amps, and other improvements. It's worth the bother and the expense. Enjoy the music!
