Love this thread. I see more than my share of stuff here that is actually in my collection. And oddball names from out of my record store past and stuff I remember from ancient issues of Stereo Review.  A dive into deep nerd-dom.
dbp24 -- Not that Song Cycle is my favorite LP of all time, but when I lived in the San Fernando Valley in L.A., I'd regularly drive down Laurel Canyon to Vine street to go my barber, who alternately worked on Melrose Avenue and Beverly Blvd. Every once in a while I'd also drop in at a high-end stereo shop that was on one of those streets.  At any rate, the Van Dyck Parks record would be coursing through my brain the entire time. I'd put on my most nasal voice and intone, "Nyoral Nyanyon."
pehere & lpretiring -- I actually bought the Lord Such and Heavy Friends new in the '70's.  I quickly relocated it to the nearby Moby Disc(?) used record bin.  Maybe one of you guys actually has my copy!

Pere Ubu -- The Modern Dance. 1970's Punk Primitive Psychotic. Did I see them live at the Whiskey?

dz13 - Yeah, I was a fan of Ultravox. I have at least three of their LPs. I'm pretty sure they're one more band I saw during my Sunset Strip night club-going days.
