Suggest one obsure album we all should hear

I will suggest two:

VHS or Beta - "Bring on the Comets"  A pop masterpiece.

The Essence - "Nothing Lasts Forever"  An incredible moody album with great hooks.  The DJ who exposed me to it labeled it as the best breakup album ever.
