Subwoofwer for Dynaudio

I have a pair of Dynaudio Contour 1.3 SEs driven by a Plinius 8200 integrated amp. I love the sound but would like to add a subwoofer. Any suggestions about which subwoofer works well with this combination. Budget is around $1250 or so.

Thanks

I had the Contour 1.3SE's and Plinius 8200 MKII about 5 years ago paired with a REL Storm MK III. I highly recommend REL subs. The model really depends on your room size.

General rule of thumb:
* small room - REL Strata
* medium room - REL Storm
* large room - REL Stadium

Or you can opt for the newer B series, but they are more expensive. You can probably get a used B3 for $1,200 or so.
Thanks for the feedback. I owned an REL Storm III and while it sounded great the quality was abysmal. It broke down twice under warranty and three times after the warranty expired. I was able to negotiate reduced cost repairs with Sumiko each time but the whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth.

I've heard good things about SVS, Hsu, Velodyne and Paradigm subwoofers. Does anyone have experience with these subwoofers paired with Dynaudio.

Thanks

I have Dynaudio 1.3SE myself.
Amplifier is Quad 99/909.
I use a REL R-205.
Sounds good to me but I did not compare to other subs.
Room is rather small (6x4 meter)
Never had any problem concerning reliability.
I have a Rel B3 that is 6 years old without any problems. Blends in well with my C1's.
Hear4 ~ I've owned REL's and have had quality problems as well, never another REL for me.
Strange... I've owned the REL Storm MKIII twice and never had a hint of trouble.
I usually don't have problems with any audio or video equipment. All I think of is that, similar to cars, sometimes a lemon is manufactured and I got stuck with it. As I said, I did enjoy the REL's sound but would like to look elsewhere this time.
The nice thing about REL to me though is how well it integrates into a two channel system and with the Neutrik high level connection allowing you to connect directly to the speaker connections on the amp you don't have to worry about a sub out or pre out connection.
