Streaming player with digital USB or coax out

Hi. I’ve recently purchased Sony BDPS3700 blu-ray player. I liked using it as streamer, but screen casting capabilities of this unit isn’t quite advanced and engage only by one or couple of lucky days once in a while, but most of the time it times out when trying to cast from any smart devices such as iphone or ipad while casting to any other device with capabilities is of no effort.
Are there any similar products on the market with more reliable screen-casting function and how to actually choose which one will do good job? Are there any specific parameters to look for? I'm about to return this item and exchange it for better unit.
