Step down transformer for a turntable

Thank you everyone for your responses.  I am a little confused by the recommendation to “oversize” by “2x”. What are you referring to?  Thanks again.

Nearly all TT motors draw less than 25W. So selecting a 50W step down gives you 2X headroom. In fact even 25W is high for a TT motor.

My Japan market Victor QL-A75 runs wonderfully with a step down transformer, it draws 16 watts. Like others have said better to have more watts than needed. Avoid the cheapest ones. The one I use is rated for 1120 watts continuous power, and I plug two devices into it.
