Step down transformer for a turntable

Are there any concerns related to the use of a step down transformer on a turntable?  I am wondering if the use of the transformer in any way diminishes the sound quality of a turntable?  I am considering buying a 100v turntable from Japan for use in USA. Would be an upgrade to my analog side. Let me know your thoughts.

Nearly all TT motors draw less than 25W. So selecting a 50W step down gives you 2X headroom. In fact even 25W is high for a TT motor.

Elliot, yes, plug your 100V step down into 120V AC outlet. That’s why they call it a step down. I’ve got a DP80 and a Kenwood L07D each plugged into its own 100V step down. A 50W 120 to 100 transformer is more than adequate for any TT that needs 100V.
