Seems like technological overkill to me. A $25 Kinetronics anti-static brush does the same thing and works in less time with less fuss. Buy it from big photo supply houses like Adorama or B&H Photo.
Static removal with ion generators
Has anyone tried using an ion generator such as these http://store.qkits.com/moreinfo.cfm/QK57 with one set for positive ions and the other set for negative ions to remove static electricity from an LP ? A fan would be required to move the ions over the LP like the Furutech Destat does. This would cost maybe $50 to build with a fan , any thoughts ?
