I've had two pair for over 20 years, never blown a woofer and I have played them loud.. my 2nd pair were the later incarnation with internal brace and supposidly higher power handling and slightly different felt covering on front. I wouldn't worry about the woofers unless you have a 150 or above watt amp and overdrive them somehow.. I did manage to damage a tweeter, one of them started having slightly lower volume output, so I had to buy a replacement pair from Madison.. but I believe these are no longer available so if you blow a tweeter these days.. I don't know what the recourse is..
I no longer listen to my TC-50's but the last time I was using them I had 'em sounding pretty darned good on a Rega Mira 3, Cardas golden Hexlink cables, Rega Vulcan sub really makes em shine.. My TC-50's were slightly modded decades ago, internal wire replaced with cardas and edison-price binding posts. Also removed the front felt.. this actually increases snap and transparency although 'tips' up the response abit in lower treble.
