Sparkies?

Lifted from  another forum. I thought this might bear on the eternal question of audiophile fuses and connector upgrades.

"He probably doesn't think that improving the voltage/current through the PS(or fuse) can positively affect the presentation of an amplifier. Most don't recognize that the power supply IS indeed directly in the "signal path" of the power amp. Every gain device/stage in an amp passes voltage from the PS to the next stage(as modulated by the signal). Then the output devices(whether tube or transistor) take voltage/current(as modulated by the signal) from the PS and connect it to the speakers. That's why it doesn't take much upgrading of power supplies, power cords, room wiring, etc. to yield a major improvement in an audio system's presentation."

Power (and the quality of it) is responsible for supplying great sound. It’s the classic “you are what you eat” paradigm.

Fuses, power supplies, power conditioners, power cables, ground blocks, and all do make a noticeable improvement if one’s audio components are resolving enough. This is because the quality and flow of electricity attracts and interacts with electromagnetic interference - equate it to a high performance car turning on a smooth track vs a rubble road with potholes. A poor power line that does not consider how to manage electromagnetic activity surrounding it or within it will degrade sonic performance. Noise can enter the system from any point, which is why your system will only sound as good as its weakest link.
