Southwest Audio Fest

Any of you turntable gurus plan on attending the SW Audio Fest in Dallas next month? I’m looking to upgrade of replace my stock VPI Classic. It doesn't  come close to my digital side. Not sure where to start. I bought it used 2 years ago and need to make decisions on carts, tone arm, etc. Sometimes it’s easier to talk instead of type and I know there’s a lot of experience and wisdom on this forum. I’ll be there Friday and Saturday most of the day. Also interested in power cords for integrated amp, as well as checking out all the other great gear I can’t afford!

It was Lone Star in June, 2023. It seemed like mostly local (TX) boutique shops that were demoing all in small rooms. The big boys, Magico, Pass etc, were not there.

Thanks for that geography lesson GB 😄. I know you’re a regular here. Wish you could go. Just a short plane ride. I live in SC.

This will be only my second show. I went to one also in Dallas two years ago, which was much smaller by comparison. Now that you mention it, I don’t remember turntables there either.  I understand they will have thousands of records there for purchase so it would expect that turntables might be part of the theme.

Good luck with that! My wife’s brother lives in Dallas and he’s a ‘phile too. And much longer in it than me. He got me started in this addictive hobby.

@sbank if you google southwest audio fest you will find a lot of info on the show there are many big rooms and small ones and a long list of vendors. I did not attend any of those other audio shows you mentioned so I don’t know how it compares.
