SOUND-DIFFERENCE: adding Emotiva BASx A2m amp to MAIN OUT of Marantz 2226B

I am not sure. If I bypass the Marantz amp, which is working fine, what do I gain by adding 50 watts per channel of the Emotiva? Just 14 WPC? And how about the sound into my Cornwall IV’s @102 db sensitivity? Anyone experimented with this move?

An Emotiva amp and a Cornwall is not a good combo, IMHO. They can be a bit lean sounding. Cornwalls deserve better.

That’s gonna be too hot for the Summer months in my Mancave I think. Class A cooking. But thanks

That emo stuff is super bright

with klipsch, nope, get better for the klipsch!

former user xpa1 monos, lasted 8 mo. Then switched to carver sunfire 300, then to 600 sig, not even close!!

emo is ok for first timers who don’t know better.

sure they play loud, but, the sunfire whipped their a$$ top to bottom.

if you like em, stay, no worries, soon u will hear another, and be floored.

I still want to hear their flagship speaker!

I have one of those vintage Marantz that was my dad’s. I will have to look at the model number. Looks just like the one you have. They have a good sound/tone. Just keep it a use it unless you need more features or dislike the sound. Most of the improvement would come from the preamp section, not the amp IMO. Maybe demo some integrated amps.

the only amps I have tried with the Cornwall IV were McIntosh and the results were pretty average. Not sure why. I like McIntosh (I own some) and Klipsch ok (also own some of them too…).
