Sony XA7ES vs Opera Consonance Reference CD-2.2

I'm looking for any thoughts anyone has on which of these I should keep! I have decided to consolidate my system so only need one CD transport. I have owned both of these units since new.  Both have seen comparatively light overall use although the Sony is about 10 years older.  Both work flawlessly.  For each I would plan on bypassing the pre-amp/dac to go directly to an eversolo a8 in order to take advantage of its far more robust DAC.  I realize that I would be losing the tube pre-amp of the Consonance. I know the Sony has an almost cult following but am also aware that if the laser goes out it may or may not be repairable....Any thoughts would be much appreciated!
