Sony SCD-XA5400ES CD Player

Does anyone have any comments on the Sony SCD-XA5400ES CD Player? This unit has balanced outputs and seems very good for $1,500. Does this player sound that good when compared to the Ayre CX-7eMP, the Ayre CX-5xeMP, the Luxman D-05 or other CD players under $7,000.
