Hi all. I performed the Musicoat upgrade that audio_optimizer recommended on my SCD-777ES. I treaded all integrated circuit chips, disk shaped capacitors (not can style), axle leaded resistors, diodes, and diode heat shinks. This stuff ($105 shipped) really works. The digital hash is gone, I hear the air pulsating through the wind instruments, the decay is enhanced, i also hear the performer take a breath which I couldn't hear previously (enhanced resolution) on my reference disk, and I know the background noise is lower (I can hear more hiss on a super quiet passage I didn't hear before). I can now increase the volume on my Aloia amp/preamp without hearing so much digital grit/sizzle. Will order more to do amp and preamp. System includes Talon Khorus, 777, Aloia, and Audio Tekne cables. Thanks, Mike
PLEASE E MAIL WHITE PAPERS, PRICES TO UPGRADE. ALSO ON A 1 TO 10 SCALE HOW MUCH WILL IT IMPROVED?

THANKS
I heard it in a very high resolution system, a/b compared to the DCS upsampling 192 DAC. It wasn't as good, but oh so close. They were both some of the best CD playback I have heard. Very limited returns upgrading that CD player.
The SCD-1 is a fabulous Red Book CD player. It is not in need of an "upgrade", IMHO
Hi: I also would appreciate any info regarding uograde Sony SACD Players - Simon
Would you please send me the upgrade info. and any related
knowledge you have on this SACD.
You people think you need to put some after market device in your system to upgrade the sound of your SACD1. Come to my house and listen! Please, give me a break.
I have found that for CD sound upgrade, I put a Perpetual Technology P3A 24bit D2A converter in line. Improvement was adequate over the Sony internal DAC. Then I upgraded the power supply on the P3A to the optional power supply - WOW - What an improvement!!
The PT P3A is the most inexpensive element in my entire system, but it did the most to improve the sound out of the SCD1!
Worth a try, and they do offer the 30 day return.
(FYI - I am not a dealer and do not have any financial ties to PT - just one heck of a happy customer.)
Thank-you Audio optimizer for the super fast e-mail. I'll take a look and let you know my thoughts.
