Sonically -Cardas the difference between the CLEAR Loudspeaker cable ,and CLEAR BEYOND

I got a very good deal on the Cardas Clear Beyond XLRs and they are very good , I feel the INTERCONNECT is more important if I had to make a choice between Loudspeaker cable and interconnect  coming from your sourse, Thst being said

the Cardas clear beyond has 2 x as many conductors  a n 8 gauge vs 5 gauge

has anyone ever compared the CLEAR  vs Clear BEYOND  Loudspeaker cable .

i can get the CLEAR for 60% off as a demo pair , how much better is the clear beyond  on the SPEAKER end since I have their  top clear beyond for the interconnects. Thanks much  in advance.

Your initial comment is not clear.  5 gauge cable is much "heftier" than 8 gauge and 8 gauge is already pretty adequate for most set-ups!!).  The lower the gauge number, the larger is the diameter of the wire.    Thicker cables generally have lower resistance, which can be beneficial for high-power and/or long-distance cable runs.

I see lots of reference to Cardas and Nordost in the above comments.  Are not the pure sonic qualities of each of these brands as different as asparagus and chocolate ice cream?

@jymc

Yes …both brands in general, and their respective models within the brand have their own bespoke sonic signature .

Silver-coated copper vs all copper and design differences :

 NORDOST are Ag coating-over-Cu individual ferrule build construction ;

 whereas

CARDAS is bespoke highest grade OCC all-Cu build in their patented Nautilus weave litz construction

The performance sonic differences especially in the frequency high-end are well travelled.( …it can be good or not tops  …) one size does not fit all .

That is why careful system matching (including cables with speakers especially in high-end resolution rigs) ) is so important in your selection process with a good resulting system synergy - or a lack of it.

There is a reason why the very top models of both NORDOST and CARDAS form the dominant bespoke choices selected  by exhibitors at the audiofests.
