Try a long USB cable to your DAC and see if the sound difference is worth it to you. If you like it then you can go down the DLNA path or just use the cable when you want to listen to music.
Smsl Dac question
Hello, I have been using a simple bluetooth adapter to listen to music from my Windows PC to my vintage integrated amplifier. I just got a Wiim mini and a Smsl DAC being told it would sound better than bluetooth.. Most of the music I listen is on my PC, like Itunes, youtube, and radio station webites. Then I learned the Wiim won't work with streaming directily from my PC to the Wiim. That it works from your Iphone, Mac Airplay, or Windows through a third party service. I don't want to stream from my phone anyway. I'm thinking I should return the Wiim, but unsure if I would still benefit from keeping the Smsl DAC to use with the Bluetooth adaptor until I figure out how to incorporate a stream from my PC to the Wiim. I don't know if the digital sound would have to go through both the internal bluetooth dac, then through the Smsl Dac, or if would make any difference in sound quality. Thanks for any helpful input.
