Shunyata NR & XC

Has anyone compared the XC against the NR? I realize their application however, sonically is there a noticeable difference if using an XC on a preamp specifically? I'm referring to the latest or V2 versions.

Not sure how the title of the thread got messed up. It was correct when I posted.

No I haven’t but...

The NR stands for "noise reduction" and in Shunyata’s approach, this means not only reducing noise from the outlet (even if using a power conditioner) but also blocking the noise that emanates from the component per se (and hence travels back into a conditioner or the wall and might therefore contaminate other components).

The XC is for "high current" and is expected to connect the power conditioner only. directly to the wall. It is about unrestricted flow of current.

Based on what I have read...get a NR...use XC for Power Conditioners

Also check out the cable company lending library and test for yourself.

Thank you Tom.

I understand the application for each but in the real world is there an audible difference? I heard or read somewhere the XC had a tad more detail in the overall presentation 🤔.  My phono preamp has a separate power supply so that especially makes me wonder the sonic differences.
