Schiit input selector switch - speaker "pops"

Has anyone had issues with their Schiit Saga S where switching inputs or the passive/JFET output (on unit or with the remote) results in a speaker "pop"?  I have gone through the Schiit troubleshooting guide (i.e. GND; disconnect/reset; etc.) with no luck.  It was purchased used online.

I was just informed by a Schiit technician by email that this is normal operation?!  If anyone has experience with Schiit Saga S, can you comment if there is a static "pop" when you use the selector switches?  I find it hard to believe this is normal.  I'll try to contact Schiit by phone later in the week.  The "pop" sound level is on the order of the relay switching you hear when adjusting the volume.

The preamp could pop if you are switching between signals with different DC offsets if there's no inter-switch muting delay.

Ideally, there's a relay which turns off the output, switches inputs and then enables the output.  It takes some logic and relays and $$$ to do this so not surprised really.

Only one source is connected and it's the Bluesound Node N130 streamer.  Speakers still pop when any selector switch is activated and no source connected (just Vidar amp).  Hey, I get it that Schiit Saga is suppose to be affordable and therefore not all the bells and whistles will be there.  I asked about speaker damage and the tech's response was he's been using the Saga for about 5 years without any issues to speakers or headphones...
