Safe to use stereo amp for Movies in the long term?

Hi All,

I'm just wondering if anyone here uses a HT Bypass amp connected to AVR amp for movies? Is it safe to do so in the long term? I have a Hegel H360... and it comes with HT bypass. For movies, I normally turn up the volume, close to 70-80db...

Is it safe in the long term or better to avoid it? Thanks...

If the AVR is of sound construction then no problem at all, only time one had to think if it was worth it, is if the amp was a tube amp, as the tubes would wear out a lot faster.
I used my ARC Ref 40 connected to VTL Mono Blocks for years in HT bypass with no issues in my old installation -- it's just hours and burns in your system nicely for you for when you need it for "proper" listening 😏
Ok, good to know... yes I do notice after watching movies, the amp seems to have warmed up nicely...
