I have red the review and I did not think the Spny was trashed. I own both the Sony and the Denon
SACD/CD Player recommendation $3500 or below
Hello,
looking for your thoughts and recommendations on a SACD/CD player to go with my system. I'd thought of the Sony XA-9000, but the 6moons on it seems to trash it's native redbook playback vs the Denon DVD-5900 I've just sold.
What I'm thinking of....:
Second hand Sony SCD-1 [around $2500],
Esoteric DV-50 [around $3400],
Krell SACD-Standard [around $2400]
I'd really prefer to buy something that doesn't have to be modded to sound great. ie this probably excludes the Denon 3910.
I really *don't* want to pay for any DVD functionality, my belief is all DVD players will torpedo in value once we get a sniff of HD-DVD or Blu-ray.
Am I expecting too much to get something that is great at both Redbook and SACD at this price point?
Your recommendations very welcome
Thanks !
Current System:
Perreaux Radiance 200i integrated
Paradigm Reference 100v3 Speakers
Audioquest Mammoth biwire speaker cable
Audioquest Anaconda RCA i/c
PS Audio 1000/x-stream statement power mgmt.
