Rowland Model 5 Parts?

I am in the midst of a repair on a Rowland Research Model 5 power amp. The problem was that unit was operating on safety. (Power switch cutting out after 10 sec. or so.) The defective part - after extensive investigation - was found to be a pre-amp module serving one channel. Have spoken to Jeff Rowland and he claims that such is available and that he would get back to me. But no news in nearly a month. Anybody know where I can find one?

Stereo Exchange less-likely will be willing to sell a part. They worry too much about their wallet thickness."

You can argue that he'll be more likely to sell the part if that's the case. But you're right. He probably won't give it away.
Kurt, I sent you a PM...

I suspect that you contacted Jeff when he was preparing for the NewPort Beach show.... In the end, he might have forgotten about your inquiry...

Respond to my PM... I will get the factory to contact you directly.

Best, Guido

Meanwhile I'd check input transistors of that faulty module one-by one and it's not too many maybe 2 or 4 depending on circuit design. Sometimes inspecting under the loupe will give you some visual on cracks, burns and part codes that not visible anymore compared to 'healthy' transistors.
There's plenty of info on how to check transistors operational condition, but I'd usually check for short(continuity between terminals) first, than do the diode one-way conductivity check.
I would definately try Rowland one more time. From what I understand, he's very busy and is a little slow on getting things done. If that doesn't work, try a Rowland dealer that has an in house service department. Try Stereo Exchange in NYC. They fix everything on site and they're big.
