ROOM TREATMENTS

Hi. I would like to know what where and how to determine what u need and where and how to determine where to place, mount diffusers etc in your music room. Thank you in advance.

Wow. That is an amazing system. Like all of high end audio there is theory and practice. Experimentation is probably the best way.

Looking at your venue. I would look to dampen behind your system… heavy wool rugs behind. Tube traps in the corners to prevent boomyness. A photo looking behind your audio chair would be helpful.

You can see my system, in case that is helpful.

@tattooedtrackman first if all, awesome system! Speakers might be a bit too close to each other but that’s just by looking at pictures…

As to the acoustic treatment…take few good pictures of your room and submit for a free advice on GIK Acoustics website. I just recently implemented some room treatments from them based on their recommendation (Mike Judge was the person I worked with).

Another option is to download free REW software, get a mic and take measurements. This would also be useful to send to GIK. I didn’t do it and am dialing it all in by ear. Most impactful were bass traps and treating first reflection points in the side walls. I respectfully disagree with @ghdprenticehere on treating the wall behind speakers - the sound radiates out into the room. Going back at the front wall you mostly have bass that accumulates in the corners. It’s all pretty complicated with cancelling waves, etc. I’m just speaking from experience here…I’m in no way an expert in room acoustics…still futzing around with panels in my room.

Good luck!
