OP: To be able to swap out one tweeter for another and not change the crossover is a lucky situation indeed. More to the point, you sound ready to start experimenting, and I am going to encourage you to leave stock speakers alone, sell them and start your own journey in speaker building instead. Along that line, I’m not at all convinced Be tweeters are even all that interesting anymore. Certainly more expensive but the best soft dome’s and AMT’s achieve equally low levels of distortion and stored energy. I encourage you instead to go to Madisound or Solen.ca or Parts Express or any other kit building sites and build your own from the get go. If you still want to pursue your original question and talk to actual speaker builders head on over to DIYaudio, great group of helpful and knowledgeable people there. |
