“Too low” would tend to sound dull, and you’d sense there was less gain. You’d want to turn up the volume a bit. That effect becomes increasingly noticeable as you reduce the input impedance in relation to the internal impedance of the cartridge.
Resistive Loading RP-1 and Ania Pro
I just went back and reviewed the setting for my aforementioned pre & cart. Rega's web site says Ania Pro load impedance is 100 ohm. I looked at my dip switches on my RP1 and they were configured at 300 ohm. Besides having to turn the volume up what I perceived as abnormally high I thought it sounded fine. Getting ready to have a listen tonight but what should I expect to change?
