Requesting Your Expertise - Best Options - High Sensitivity Speakers For A Smaller Room

As the title says, I am looking into the best options for higher sensitivity speakers for a somewhat small room. The room itself is 12.5 feet by 9.5 feet. The speakers would be placed along the 12.5 foot wall. Amplifier power is 8wpc.

The system will be used for a variety of music, including folk, instrumental, rock, jazz, and singer songwriter offerings. Budget is a max of $3k, used. And a quality subwoofer, chosen specifically for the room, and use with whatever speakers that I choose, is available to employ.

I already have some ideas, but, clearly, none of us are aware of everything, and, in the higher sensitivity space, things can get a bit tricky. Your experiences, thoughts, recommendations and expertise would be appreciated in terms of outlining all the worthwhile options available. Thanks.

OP...Used Audio Note Js and especially Ks may be had used for well under $3,500. There is a budget K model for around $3,800 retail and you could get a deal with some work. These can be hard to find used as most folks tend to keep them so call around to AN dealers listed on the website. Snell E & Js can be had used for well under $600. Then you could spend the rest of your budget on some records. If you are able to hear and like the AN sound, the effort will reward you. "AN speakers make friends easily and tend to keep them." Wavetouch Anteros. 92dB 4ohm wonder boxes. Would be around $3000 used if you can find some.

Came across a great deal on a pair of Rethm Bhaava's and was a bit excited, as their speakers have always sounded exceptional to me. However, after further research, they are not as sensitive as I had thought, and require 25wpc, or so to really perform. :(

"@nightfall try Omega speakers. I have the Junior 8 XRS. They are one of my best ever speakers. Right now they hold their own against Devore Fidelity O/Babys at home. I have had the XRS' for about a year. This will order 2 more pairs- Junior 8- for shipping to Dubai- that's how good they are. Out of CT. And Louis is great to speak to."

You're absolutely right about Louis, one of the really nice guys in audio. We've spoken a number of times as I've recommended his speakers to a number of friends. When I asked him about my specific room, he felt that the Compact Alnico Monitors were the best option, and that the XRS's would likely overload the room. And I'm just not sure that the CAM's, while certainly fine speakers, will provide me with the full range sound I am looking for. I strongly suspect the XRS's would, but not really viable in the room.

And if they hold their own against the DeVore O/Babys, I'm even more impressed by those speakers!

It's just laughable when people think or believe that speakers will overload the room or be too big. I have seen no evidence to support this baseless claim. I have set up many systems and the size of the speaker is a non-issue.
