reliable DDC

I reinstalled my Singxer SU6 DDC the other day so that I could utilize the two S/PDIF outputs at the same time to make my comparisons between DACs in my system easier and quicker.  

Even though the two main DACs I have here are both said to perform best from their USB connections, my initial impression is that feeding them a signal via S/PDIF through the DDC sounds as good as through a direct USB connection.

BTW, to the OP’S question, the SU6 has been totally reliable every time I have used it in my system with no glitches whatsoever, unlike the Denafrips Hermes I previously owned which didn’t want to cooperate with my other digital gear at the time.

I have an Audio GD DI-20HE. Very good.

They have updated to DI-25HE.

I've owned Denafrips amps, preamps, DACs, and DDCs for over 3 years and have never had a single problem. I've also set up several systems for friends with Denafrips DACs and DDCs, and absolutely no reliability issues.

My experiences with the Iris, Hermes, and Gaia DDCs have all been flawless.....I highly recommend Denafrips DACs and DDCs. Their preamps and amps are above average, but not mid-fi or hi-fi; I've since sold mine just based on SQ

I have not read of major quality issues with Gustard.  I have a Gustard U18 and I'm on my second Gustard dac (I upgraded, the first one had no issues).
