I had some parts replaced about a year ago on an original Planet. I do think it was a laser. I was pleasantly surprised it cost me much less than I anticipated.
Rega's older CDP/transport parts availability?
The older Rega Planet, Planet 2000 and Jupiter are excellent affordable units, but what of parts availability for repair?
I'd imagine folks should be concerned regarding the obvious, like laser assemblys (Some by Sony if I correctly recall), but what about the motor that spins the disc? Or the electronic display?
The newer Apollo and Saturn are stunningly good, but what of the folk aiming to upkeep these charming earlier units? Are parts readily available? Or extinct and "unobtainium"?
