4 speakers/two channel
I simply drive a powered sub from the pre-out on the int amp that drives the back speakers. It really doesn't matter which int amp you use the pe-out from. Using the pre out, the volume is not fixed and raises and lowers with the regular volume.Wh...
4 speakers/two channel
I have bee doing this for years, using two int amps.Main int amp with a rec out for a fixed signal to the other int amp. I even use a sub.I know three other people who have done this once they listened to mine. Exceptional listening.
best cd player to get??
For regular redbook get a Raysonic CD 128. Or as someone suggested a blow out Rega Apollo. For $1500 get the Rega and a 500-700 dollar DAC. The Rega's make a good transport and you will be set for computer audio.Esoteric DV 50 is a good one. Somet...
What CD Palyer
Find a used Raysonic 128. I have experiences with playersfrom all of the big names and up to $5000. I have sold quite a few on this site. Very MUSICAL for the buck.
Jim Salk's Speakers?
I disagree with the above poster. I think the Song Towers play way above their asking price. And most people who have heard them agree........but to each his own.I am not on the speaker merry go round anymore, that's for sure.
Sonos Products
Just to add.......I was not knocking the Sonos at all.And as people have mentioned above the ease of use and build quality for the asking price are top notch. My point is if you do have a "main" system I think it is fine the way it is. It is the fu...
Sonos Products
I agree with the above poster. I have a couple of their products including the ZP90.Great to listen for a party or just pulling ups some tunes to listen to.It does not compete with my main system. I actually mainly use it on my back porch with an ...
PSB Alpha B 1's
Just a note. I have had speakers that cost a pretty penney.I use the PSB Alpha's as my "utility" speaker. I take them to my back porch, yard etc. They are silly goodfor the money. Very accurate at that price point.Having used PSB's off and on over...
best cd between cary or raysonic
I did say no XLR inputs on the 6500.......last sentence. To each his own, but with a Mcintosh and the numerous players I have tried from this site............well the Cam 840C.........not my cup of tea.Feel free to check my feedback on the number o...
best cd between cary or raysonic
Wow..........how many different threads on this.I have bought and used on Audiogon with Mcintosh amps and int amps Esoteric, Rega, Naim, Mcintosh, Cary, Pioneer Elite, JAS, Raysonic, Musical Fidelity, NAD Masters, Jolida, Cambridge and Meridian to...
One Box Player for digital/Sonos
I did notice with the smaller amps the sound was pretty good from the ZP 90. Not nearly as good on the big rig.I am sure the sound is good enough from the S5 and I amgoing to check out the Sqeezebox.
One Box Player for digital/Sonos
Yes, I have seen the S5 and it seems preety cool especially for the price.I do have a ZP 90 to hook up to an amp of some sort. I may go the s5 route.I would like to see what else is out there. For other than Sonos purposes also.
Has anybody heard the new RAYSONIC CD 138?
Through my experience with cd players and quite a few cd player transactions on this site, I think they REALLYshould have made it so the balanced portion ranthrough the tube section. I know people argue the difference between balanced and unbalanc...
Best Speakers match for NAD C372
I have used a 372 with BW 705's. Put a little Sunfiresub out from the pre-outs in the back. Really cool.I have had quite a bit of NAD equipment over the years. The pre-outs on the back are as good as the most expensive pieces I have owned.I also ag...
Has anybody heard the new RAYSONIC CD 138?
Just to add.........it appears the tube output is for the RCA's only and the XLR output is solid state. A dealer informed me of this. I wondered why there were only two tubes. Curious if anyone else heard this.
