The Rega P7 is a fantastic table-I do believe that Rega is coming out with a new replacement table for the P7 so I would guess that you can pick one up with a significant price reduction.
I believe the Rega P7 has been discontinued, at least that's what my dealer told me. I do see that Music Direct is selling some "B" stock P7 models. I have no experience with the Michell TechnoDec. Have you ruled out a VPI? They have a Classic 1 or Scoutmaster 2 that would seem to fall in your price range.
