I am purchasing an Audio Research LS8 MK II. It has Philips tubes. In terms of sound, mated with my Bryston 3B ST, should I stick with Philips or should I consider another tube(s)?
Try Electro Harmonix and Ei Elites. The EI's have a very nice sound. Both of these are inexpensive tubes. For NOS I can't help you as I had back luck with them.
