Recommendations for recent rap and hip hop recordings please.
I am conversant with early rap and hip hop, NWA, Dre, Tone Loc, 2 Live Crew, etc., and more modern music, Cardi B, Meghan, Travis Scott, etc., but hoping to get some recommendations for modern rap and hip hop that is a bit more off the beaten path.
I am not particularly concerned with sound quality (been listening to a lot of 78s recently), but others here may be, so comments on sq are appreciated.
And I realize that musical taste is subjective and many will not care for these genres of music, so please feel free to move on, or start your own thread discussing the merits, or lack thereof, of this music. This one is for musical recommendations only. Thanks.

@ozzy yet six months ago you were the member who said they secretly crank Mariah Carey and Weird Al Yankovic in their yellow Miata on an empty road. Too bad that thread which included your post was removed. It was one of those posts that was both unexpected and memorable. I never thanked you for your candor and vulnerability - so a belated thank you, good sir. Edit: don’t be silly @ozzy I found the screenshot. You had a yellow 1998 Miata with pop-up headlights and automatic transmission since stick was “too difficult to learn at my age.” |
