Well, off the bat I'd sat your interconnects are less resolving than the amp/preamp you've got. Also, what about the rest of the system? How about speakers and source, are they up to the quality of your amp/preamp? That issue aside, I've got Luxman the m700u/c700u pair and I don't hear much if any difference between the same brand of rca or xlr cables used between amp and preamp. Now that's true only between amp and preamp. My Luxman D-08u sounds different depending on whether xlr or rca is used to connect to the c700u. My Altair G2.2 streamer sounds pretty much the same. I also find the Luxman components are somewhat less affected by power cable changes than a lot of other brands. I've got Luminous Audio Synchestras, Shunyata eTron Pythons, LessLoss Homage to Time, Wireworld Eclipse, and DH Labs Revelations to use and they all have their particular virtues.
Real experience - Balanced or Unbalanced between Luxman Pre & Power Amps
Hi Folks,
After having spent quite a bit of time testing both balanced and unbalanced cables between a luxman c10x preamp and m10x power amp. I'm not noticing any difference.
My balanced cable is from blue jeans and interconnect is a QED ref 40.
Does anyone have any experience with these components, if so what has your experience been and what are you using between them?

@photon46 appreciate the response. Are there any particular interconnects or XLRs you'd recommend? |
+1 I’ve tried Blue Jeans and they are about the quality of what comes with new components. I don’t know anything about QED.
Typically I recommend DHLabs for budget interconnects. But since Luxman is very hot on the top end and lean on the midrange I recommend Cardas Clear Beyond… they are warm and musical these should be very complementary to your system. |
