RCA Interconnect recommendations

I'm looking for a new set of interconnects and need recommendations.  I'm running a Rega P3 (with Exact and Neo PSU) and a Sonic Frontiers SFL-1.  In between, I will be adding a Darlington MM7B, which is on order.  I was using an old pair of Cardas Ultralink 5C interconnects but find them a bit muddled.  I also have a pair of Audioquest Red River interconnects and they're very bright.  Any suggestions for something that's musical, clear and detailed, with good bass response?

I've been really impressed with the Veritas Cables Argentum R interconnects I got a few months back. It's a small new brand that sells direct on US Audio Mart. Not the cheapest cable I own, not the most expensive either, but possibly the best value for the sound I get from it.

Also had good results from other small brands I've used over the years, including Audio Art, Triode Wire Labs, and the affordable Signal Cable. My experience is that all of these small brands give you much more bang for the buck compared to the giant brands like Audioquest who spend a ton of money on marketing. With the small brands more of your purchase price goes into the actual materials and construction of the cable instead of ads in Stereophile and on every audiophile blog.

I've ordered a pair of Blue Jeans interconnects and will have a friend come over to do a blind listening session with me.

When you do you blind listening, can I suggest you just write down whether you think the sound is better, worse, or the same.  Your cable switcher should remove the cable, then randomly insert one or the other test cables.  Sometimes you will be comparing a cable with itself - that's illuminating.

You can get random numbers from tables, or pseudo-random numbers from Excel.

If you repeatedly play the same record, expect it to deteriorate through wear!

I think this is a worthwhile test. While I've tried some of the Beldens, I've never tried and tested this particular set of BJ ICs. I've thought about buying a pair of these as a test set, loaner set, and to use for other components to plug in and leaving my main cables alone. Imo Its really good to have a nice baseline value set of cables like this in any case to test and compare other cables too fwiw. Be sure to give them 10-14  to just uncoil, relax the cable internal dielectric inside, let them play for two weeks before making an early judgment imo. Yes, even your ears and mind will adjust to them but I think its fair to give them a little time to relax and settle in without touching them.  Best of Luck, good move to test these first. You might end up liking them.
