You'll be fine with the 130 wt amp. You can't really over power a speaker but be careful you can over drive it.
Question about speaker power handling
Hi,
The speakers that I currently have (JMLab Chorus 706) have a maximum power rating of 80 watts.
The amp that I am thinking of upgrading to (Rotel RB 1070) has a power rating of 130 wpc at 8 ohm.
Is there a chance that I will damage my speakers by this mismatch? If this is the case, should I be looking for a more conservative amp?
I have read that underpowering is much more harmful to the speaker than overpowering.
Thanks,
Anuj
