Mostly for kavakat1, but for anybody else who is a bit confused, The Qobuz app originally connected to streamers by airplay, but it is not a good solution. I do use the Qobuz app with Carplay, and it is ok. This spring, Qobuz came out with Qobuz Connect. Qobuz Connect uses Wifi and connects directly to streamers. It uses an updated version of the same app, and as pointed out on this thread, there have been more updates. The problem is that it intermittently will not play a track or stop in the middle of a tract, but this seems to be dependent on the streamer. Hopefully, Qobuz will fix it for everybody soon.
Qobuz Connect also allows you to connect to streamers outside you network. Roon Arc (as oppposed to regular Roon) is supposed to do this, but I have not been able to make it work consistently and gave up on it
Qobuz also works with Roon, generally with no difficulty. Roon also has a better interface than Qobuz, but probably also a somewhat worse sound. Roon allows use of multiple streaming services as well as radio and you own digital music collection. However, Roon is also an added expense and near zero support. Roon also requires a hub or nucleus. I run it on a NAS server for free, but if you do not have a NAS, then you will probably have to buy a Roon product. The Roon Nucleus Titan costs $4000. In any case there is a monthly service charge for Roon. If you decide to go with Roon, make sure your streamer is Roon Ready.
Overall, I think Qobuz is an excellent product with the best curation and search for classical music. Probably the best sound, but at least as good as any. I hope Qobuz is following this thread and will fix the problem.
