PurePower what are your thoughts?

Thinking of buying a PurePower conditioner, what are your thoughts of the newer 2000 + vs the original?

Watch out there are two Pure Power (APS in Canada and AVPS in Taiwan). Some have reported having bad experiences with the Canadian company here. I'd recommend doing a search for details.
Actually I heard the opposite! I'd be leery about the Taiwan version. I bought the new 2000 plus from Canada and had a good experience.

Looks like the newer model has more continuos watts and potentially longer output when power fails:

PP 2000+: 1800 watts continuous / 2340 short term (2 min.)

PP 2000: 1400 Watts Continuous, 2000 Watts Short Duration

The PP website does not do a good job of explaining PP 2000+ difference IMO. Unclear if 2000+ maintains full wattage output alone or requires power packs.
I believe that Walter of Underwood is working with PurePower AVPS in Taiwan currently, not the Canadian company. I tend to trust Walter's judgments in things like this.

See the other recent PurePower thread for details of issues with the Canadian company. User Glory also had a thread about his problems with PurePower in Canada, though it seems that the thread may have been deleted.
There is only one PurePower.

PurePower is the registered trademark of PurePower Partners LLC. We are a New Jersey LLC established in 2006 with manufacturing operations in Canada.

Our web site is www.purepoweraps.com

Our newest 3rd generation models, The PurePower+ line, are a dramatic improvement over our previous versions. It is manufactured in Canada, provides 30% more power, is 30% smaller, and 30% lighter. It has much tighter electronic specifications and even better sonic performance.

The original PurePower 1st generation products were also made in Canada. Our 2nd generation version was initially assembled in Canada, and later assembled in Taiwan.

We have since returned all production to North America.

The PurePower AVPS company was selling knockoffs of our 2nd generation product. AVPS has an action against it in the courts. Details are available on our web site if you want them.

Underwood HIFI no longer offers the counterfeit PurePower AVPS. You will find Walter has removed references to AVPS, Google has removed search results for AVPS and also cancelled their AVPS Google Ad Words contract.
The PurePower+ 2000 (or 3000) is supplied with its own PowerPack as part of a two module package. Only one PowerPack is normally required for full utility isolation, but in some parts of the world, where utility power can be fitful, additional PowerPacks can be added to allow longer running - up to several hours - in the event of an extended blackout. They add more time - but not more watts.
If only the Canadian PurePower were so prompt in replying to complaints like the one in this thread:

Or to complaints by A'gon user Glory.
Yes I read the Thread that seems to be MIA from the fellow that had no response to his problem from Damian at PP Canada.
I am a PurePower Owner looking at upgrading but this controversy is damaging the Brand and leaving me with doubts.
Pity as it is superior to the PS Audio similar products.

More the worry as I am not based in the Americas.

I was going to buy a unit but I have read way too many problems with the units and getting them fixed.
I've heard from 10 other owners of PP that have had no issues and my unit is working flawlessly.

how do you know this? did you swallow their campaign literature hook, line & sinker? OR, do you have your own personal experience to back-up this statement? OR, are you simply mouthing off what was told to you by a dealer/friend/acquaintance?
thanks.
In April I got the 1050 from Canada and have had no problems. I considered the upgrade but at high listening levels the 1050 shows a 30% max load. At a normal listening level with no input power I ran it for just over 30 min and the display still showed 45% remaining battery.
I had a 1050 for 5 years with no problems. I upgraded to the new 1500 and love it. It took awhile to recieve it, but now production should be fine.
It is seamless going from the wall to battery.
Most conditioners lose dynamics. The purepower+ imo enhances it.

When my purepower wasn't in my system for a few weeks the sound was n't nearly as enjoyable.

Snopro, can you tell us more about the performance of the unit compared to just power cords being plugged right into the wall. Did you have a chance to compare it to more traditional power conditioners? Thank you
Branislav, compared straight into the wall the system sounds quieter, less grainy, has better tonality, bigger soundstage.
