PS Audio PWD opinions

Setting up PWD this weekend to stream from my NAS via the bridge. I would appreciate any input on software likes/dislikes. Currently using mac and planning on loading with elyric/FLAC. However, I would also like to keep an mp3 version of my tunes in itunes for ipod? Can it be done?

no problem, just keep the files separate on your mac. when elyric asks to be directed to files you want imported....select the folder with the flac (or whatever you want played threw the pwd/bridge). the mp3 files in the other folder will not be imported but will still be there for you to use.

elyric still has some bugs. most of them should be worked out soon. keep up with releases via the PSA website. i use a PC via linksys home network and am very happy streaming. mac users have reported the same.

tips....you might hate me for this =)

upgrade the power cord on the pwd...it's very responsive and sensitive to power supply.

upgrade to the mk2 digital board. the new native x mode will knock you out....really!. the word fatigue is now a thing of the past. hard to call it digital period imho.

gotta get some hi res if you already don't. the pwd shines with the stuff. hdtracks is a decent source.

if you don't go with the mk2 upgrade, upgrade the fuses at least...hard to believe but it really made a difference for $100. (see PSA site for details).mk2 upgrade *comes with* fuse upgrade.

good luck
i used J River until the most recent elyric update. previous elyric versions did not work well on my win7 set-up. the most recent update seemed to address most of the problems i was having.

so yes...J River works if that's what you want to use i was using their new ipad app "My River" as a controller. liked it alot.
