That’s a great story, and you should be proud of her. It reminds me of my own daughter’s experience. At around ten years old, she tried out for the school talent program. She wasn’t selected to perform, and I know it bothered her. The following year, she developed an act with her friend and they were selected to be in the show. When the day came, her friend got stage fright and refused to perform. My wife and I were in the audience, and surprised when they announced her act. As she began, the music started and it was obvious that she was lip-synching to the song, and dancing. We were shocked to see how good she was doing. She really did have talent. I turned to the people behind us and said, "That’s our daughter!" We were so proud.
Proudest musical experience.

Mine happened when my wife and I threw an adult dinner party. Out around the pool having a good time when suddenly from an upstairs window we heard the bellowing sound of our 11 year old daughter’s voice singing. “I did it myyyyy waaaaaayyyyy”. The years of singing lessons and exposure to good music had paid off. She got embarrassed when we all clapped. She had no idea the window was open.
She has a very good voice and the group was stunned at the volume coming from that small girl.
Later in high school she sang the national anthem at her graduation.
Thanks for ‘listening’.
