Proper cleaning of the zerodust styus cleaner

I had spoken w/ music direct at the NYC show about how to properly clean this product. Mine has around 9 mos. of lower than average use.I have purchased dislilled water and original palmolive dish detergent for the job. I assume that I submerse the ZD (gel portion w/o cap) in to the warm(30 sec. in the microwave) distilled water w/ a little palmolive and then common sense tells me to rinse the unit w/ more plain distilled water after soaking in the one w/ the detergent. I am not sure how long to soak the bottom (fluid) part in the dist. water /palmolive however. Can anyone shed any light on my next big cleaning project.

I just tried cleaning the ZeroDust with literally one small drop of dishwashing detergent and using my hands was able to completely clean the ZeroDust and then rinsed with Distilled Water.
.
It looks like knew except for the stylus pricks in the surgace.

Mine just popped out one day when I was fooling with it. I use a dull knife to tuck it back in at the sides. It stays in place 'till you pop it out again for another cleaning. Should be analog accessory of the year IMHO!
yeah, you can take it out, its just a whole glob of goo, shaped into a square to fit in the case, and then the bubble on top, if found out the hard way, my three year old though it was playdough, and removed it for me, but anyway, that stuff is very durable.
The microwave is only to warm (30 seconds should do the trick) the amount of distilled water being used to soak the gel substance. The zerodust shouldnt go in the microwave. That being said, I just want to make sure to soak it long enough but not too long. I did not think to remove it from the bottom case which it sits though, I didnt think you could or should do that.
I have just put it under a warm faucet, with a little dishsoap on it. It seems to clean up fine. I then let it dry for a day or two. I have done this several times and the material acts as it did the day I recieved it. Of course now I wonder if I screwed it up!
My jel piece came out the holder. So just wash it (with clean hands) with warm tap water and a little dish soap. Then rinse it good with distilled. Then I let it air dry or use a hair dryer on low and put it back in the holder being very careful not to touch the bubble. I don't know why a microwave has to be invovled. I use mine constantly; before every play. Then I apply Stylast, but that's for another thread. I also use LP#9 every 4 or 5 cleanings just to keep the serious burned on muck a' ruck off.
