I've only seen this problem with older DVD players. Solution: upgrade. Unfortunately the PS2 is brand new. I have one, and have never experienced the problems you are describing. Might be time to call Sony...
Problems with PS2
I use a Playstation 2 as a second room dvd player...but when the player reads the second layer half-way thru the movie it cuts out all the time ...the audio and the video are not in sync....I tried using a lens cleaning CD...that doesn't help to much....it happens on most discs...even new ones....any suggestions...before I spend alot on fixing it...thanx chris....by the way it reads CDs and Playstation games just fine....
