Long ago turning on amp after preamp was very important. Not so much anymore per audio research and a couple high end dealers.
Priority of wiring 12v trigger wire in bypass ht setup
How do you configure trigger wire on stereo tube preamp when you use it as part of bypass home theater setup?
Read that Amp should come on first followed by preamp coming on. To me this is an inconvenience as many HT users turn on tv first and a tube preamp turn on delay, say 45 seconds for audio research is not wonderful as waiting 45 seconds for tv sound is not ideal.
Have since learned, not a big deal if amp comes on before preamp. Turning on amp first allows avr to turn on immediately along with tv and a center speaker which initially is fine. Then tube preamp comes on after 45 secs to allow mains to come on. Certainly this seems a lot better.

When powering down, amplifier should turn off first. |
