Power cord for LEXICON LX-7 Seven Channel THX Amplifier

Hello, I have lost my power cord for LEXICON LX-7. I already have few power cords(3 plug) but I am afraid to use it. The manual says "The AC input connector provides power to the unit with the supplied power cord (3 conductor, 14AWG). Do not use an extension cord. For optimal performance, use an isolated power receptacle with adequate current (15 amps)" . Should I buy a new one? Please guide on this. Thanks

Hey,
You'll be fine so long as you stick to 14 gauge cables or more (10, 12 are also good)
They recommend against extension cords because the power rating for them tends to e light, like 500W vs. 1500W or so for 14 gauge wires.  Plus, people put multiple appliances on an extension cord, so yeah, a bad idea.

With enough light you should be able to tell the gauge of wiring by the marking on the cable, you will see something like 14 AWG.  So long as it's 14 or less you are good.  If it says 16 or higher, avoid it.
