for now don't turn it off and keep it always running. thus you'll probably save your speakers from "nervous" and powerful popin' beast until you resolve the problem with Krell.
If you want to do it yourself you'll probably need a multi-meter, cap-tester, amp circuitry and solid knowlege of electronics.
