There was a bit of buzz last summer when they introduced the replacement for the LSiM series, bringing their SDA technology back from the dead. Here's a bit more: https://youtu.be/4Tnns8Os0Hg This sort of thing always seems to be a sound engineer's wet dream IMO. Maybe it's just me, but this always seems to be overthinking a problem, perhaps finding answers to which there weren't any questions and introducing a whole new set of potential issues. It's certainly not as elegantly simple a solution as an omni directional speaker such as MBL or Ohm. They're definitely trying to accomplish a lot more. I'll be interested to see if it actually works. But I find it odd whenever I'm at a stereo/electronics show, impressed as I am on some of this stuff, I always find some little room off on the side with a bunch of awestruck people standing room only over some crappy little 2-way stand-mount some guy designed and built in his garage that's pumping out truly soulful noises. 🤷♂️ |
