It seems that many ads have the first photo of the box the items comes in or something that is less important than a photo of the items itself? Is the box now the most important part of a Buyer's decision?
If I am looking at a Mac piece, it is imperative that the seller have the original box. That is the only way the equipments glass front has a decent way to get to you intact.
Its more likely the result of a lazy seller who can't be bothered to check their ad after listing. Many times I have found Audiogon has jumbled the order of the photos up from how I originally placed them and I have to go back in and revise and reorder them again. Sometimes twice!!
Original packing is very important to me as a potential buyer, if not available and I still want the piece I will contact the manufacturer for replacement shipping containers and does reflect in my offering price.
