Peter Frampton Acoustic Classics

I wasn't expecting too much from the new LP from Peter Frampton.."Acoustic Classics", released exclusively by Barnes and Noble. The first good sign was that this LP is pressed by Pallas in Germany. Then, I noticed it was a colored vinyl ( usually a good omen). So, on the platter it went.....

Ladies and Gents, you need to get this LP!! Even if you only half like Peter Frampton's songs..and who doesn't like 'Show me the way"...the SQ is almost reference quality!!! The pressing is magnificent; being essentially dead quiet and the sonics are superb. Peter's guitar is right there in the room with you. Highly recommended.

Thanks Eric, glad you like. Yes, the red vinyl makes a nice change and I think looks great on the platter.
I finally picked up this album from my local B&N and wanted to say thank you for posting. Production quality is as one would expect from Frampton; excellent sound quality and very quiet virtually zero surface noise. And of course the music is very intimate like having Peter and his guitar(s) right there in the same room with you. Highly recommend. The included digital download is only 160kbps / 44.1khz MP3 but thats not why I acquired vinyl. One other thing I did not expect is the vinyl is RED! Nice!
As Providence would have it, my wife suggested going by the local B&N store today for another item.  Checked out their vinyl bins and sure enough Acoustic Classics was there.  It's playing now.  A nice heavy and quiet piece of vinyl.  A slight outer edge warp on disc 1.  Nothing severe.  Enjoying the music.  These songs have held up well over the years and so too his voice. The arrangements are straight forward and unadorned. Production and sound quality are all excellent as daveyf reported.
Picked it up a short time ago.  It's still in my to be cleaned stack, but based on your review it is moving to the top.
daveyf - good write up and thanks for the recommendation.  As a guitarist, PF is the real deal going back to his days w/Marriott and Humble Pie.  I don't buy too much new release/"audiophile" vinyl but might just have to get this one based on your enthusiasm.  Always a big fan of PF's Comes Alive as well as the S/T studio album released right around the same time.  Thanks.
